I have grand plans to write individual listings for each of the following lookouts, complete with photos, but for now here’s the summary I’ve been giving to my Airbnb guests:
Basically there are three valleys that make for the best views in the Blue Mountains – the Jamieson Valley (which you can see from Wentworth Falls, Leura and Katoomba lookouts), the Grose Valley and the Megalong Valley.
For the Jamieson I would suggest Kings Tableland (it’s also known as Lincoln’s Rock) and Sublime Point in Leura, which gives you a look at the Three Sisters without the tourists. And of course there’s Echo Point in Katoomba – which is the best vantage point for the Three Sisters and there are lots of short walks around there.
For the Grose Valley I’d recommend Govett’s Leap in Blackheath and Pulpit Rock, also in Blackheath. You will need to go down a bumpy dirt road for Pulpit Rock, but it’s incredible and includes a short 5-10-minute walk to the lookout.
For the Megalong Valley I recommend Hargreaves Lookout at the end of Shipley’s Plateau (which is in Blackheath too). Blackheath is a 25-minute drive from Luxury Bush Escape.
