About

I’m a Blue Mountains local with a passion for food, coffee, wine, the outdoors and for all the finer things in life. I’ve created this website for a few reasons – mainly because there’s not really any one website that gives visitors to the Blue Mountains honest (unsponsored) information about the full range of things to see and do here, and I feel we owe it to the world to help travellers get the most out of their time in the Blue Mountains.

I also host accommodation on Airbnb (check out Luxury Bush Escape) and after months of tailoring personalised itineraries for guests I decided I needed one place to put all my tips and recommendations for easy reference.

I’m also a food and travel writer/reviewer and I feel compelled to tell people about things worth telling people about – and so it made sense to start this blog!

My one promise is that – as the title implies – this website will be truthful, giving honest appraisals of all the things I consume, imbibe and experience. If ever I don’t pay my own way I’ll be sure to make that clear.

Posts appear sporadically so please subscribe, Like the Facebook page and follow @truebluemts on Twitter to make sure you don’t miss them. If you have a suggestion for a cafe, restaurant or experience in the Blue Mountains you think deserves to be included, please get in touch.

*BEFORE YOU DISAPPEAR!!!* … head over to www.jodiemcleod.com to read about and buy a copy of my Blue Mountains children’s books Leonard the Lyrebird and Lilah the Lyrebird illustrated by Eloise Short. This is IMHO one of the best souvenirs of the Blue Mountains you could possibly buy… not being biased or anything! 😉 Read reviews and buy it here.
